Lightweight Luggage Reviews

When it comes to lightweight luggage, one of the elements that you should spend hours pondering on is the look. After all, your REAL concern is the amount of weight is carries.

For business considerations you might want to think about getting something more professional looking because you can’t exactly have something that looks like an old gym bag stuffed full of suits now can you? For this purpose you should opt for something a little more streamline and organized sans the frills.

When it comes to making your luggage easy to identify, you might want to opt for something with a little more bold color or even something with a different texture than the average Joe luggage pieces.

To keep you luggage as lightweight as possible, you really don’t want to invest in a bag that’s heavy when it’s not packed. Polycarbonate casings offer great durability while still being super lightweight. While lighter is better, something that’s still paramount is sturdiness and reliability.

On that note if you’re looking for a great new lightweight luggage piece, take a look at some of our tried and tested bags to make the search that much easier.

TravelPro Maxlite 3 25” Expandable Rollaboard

Pros:

  • Being one of TravelPro’s lightest models ever, the Maxlite 3 25” Spinner is also within your budget, but looks expensive
  • The bottom tray helps stabilize the bag and keep the spinner wheels aligned, making it super durable and able to rotate at 360 degrees
  • We love the telescopic handle with the Contour Grip that makes maneuvering the spinner bag very comfortable

Cons:

  • The only thing that we could think of that could be slightly off-putting could be the fact that the interior space is very simple and doesn’t have lots of pockets, but we’d really have to look very hard to find anything wrong with this bag.

Is it Worth Buying?

Yes, TravelPro has always been at the forefront of delivering top quality bags that are lightweight, durable and dependable, and the Maxlite 3 really doesn’t compromise on any of those factors, so we would happily recommend it.

Samsonite Lift Two 25” Spinner

Pros:

  • We really love the Air Expanded Poly Ethylene material used in construction to reduce weight and also resist against abrasion and tears in the bag, and for added protection, there’s the rubberized corner guards.
  • For a smooth wheeling experience, the multi-directional wheels housed in ecto-skeletal air flow hubs really work great
  • This bag has awesome compression and expansion features, allowing you to fit in even more without having to battle with finding space to fit it all in

Cons:

  • If you don’t pack the bag with an even weight distribution, it’s actually prone to topple over and the handle sometimes goes a little haywire and seems to get stuck, but other than that, it’s a pretty solid bag

Is it Worth Buying?

Yes, we love the fact that the name brings with it a sense of reliability and the Lift 2 is no exception. We would happily recommend it.

Swiss Gear Travel Gear Expandable Spinner 20”

Pros:

  • What appears to be a relatively “small” bag turns out to be quite big and allows you to pack much more than you would have anticipated
  • The material used in construction is very durable so you can count on the fact that it’s going to last and last
  • The wheels move around great and allow you to move from A to B with minimal effort

Cons:

  • The handle seems to be a little flimsy

Is it Worth Buying?

For the more budget conscious traveler, the Swiss Gear Spinner is a great choice, still giving you great quality at an affordable price.

IT Luggage Mega-Lite Premium

Pros:

  • We love the fact that the bag is well balanced and wont easily tip over due to the molded base which gives it more stability
  • The 4 wheels makes traveling from point to point such a breeze and the skid guards and corner guards give you that added sense of wear durability
  • The internal space is great, is able to hold a lot and has amazing organization features, on top of that, it’s lined with waterproof fabric, protecting your valuable items

Cons:

  • Hard as we tried, we just could find anything wrong with this bag

Is it Worth Buying?

IT Luggage is without a doubt the expert on lightweight luggage (they make the worlds lightest by the way) and the Mega-Lite is surely one of the most impressive, durable and reliable pieces of lightweight luggage out there, so YES, we would definitely recommend it.
